Dr. Feliza B. Quevada, Principal IV of the Quezon National High School of Quezon (PMPQ) said there is currently no mandate that the school be relocated to the city schools division of Lucena. This is contrary to widespread rumors that the PMPQ will be heading to the Lucena branch from DepEd Quezon due to the city government's proposed resolution to move the school into the Lucena Division.
The matter was raised because of Dr.'s statement. Aniano Ogayon, Schools Division Superintendent of Lucena City was about to join the Lucena division of the PMPQ after welcoming teachers on August 25 at the Teachers Convention celebration. City Councilor Boyet Alejandrino, Chairperson of the Education Committee, supported Dr. Ogayon. According to the councilor, the resolution has passed several readings in congress and is currently undergoing thorough scrutiny.
According to Alenjandrino, the PMPQ is in the vicinity of the city so it should only go to the management of the city schools division to further develop the school facilities and have its own spelling LGU partner. It would be nice if the resolution stated what the advantages and limitations would be if the city schools division took over the PMPQ to better understand the school's teachers, students and parents.
Although the proposal was passed to Congress in 2015, according to the city government's Committee on Education; No decision has been made as to whether or not this has been approved, the headmaster said no office has received any information on the state of the matter. In the related incident, Governor Suarez also made it clear that he would not allow the PMPQ to be transferred to the Lucena City division, according to Gov., as it bears the name of the Quezon province so it must remain in the Quezon branch. At a consultative meeting of school principals at the governor's office in June, Gob stated. Suarez says the PMPQ is unlikely to relocate to Lucena as the province owns the land on which the school stands.
