According to a survey conducted by The National Board, students were divided on the issue of possible government dissolution of the Youth Council.

This comes after President Aquino signed a proposal to postpone the SK election as part of the government's budgetary savings.

“Youth should have representation in congress or local government”

Consequently, The Coconut milked the Quezon Highers masses during the two-week survey, November 24-29, and December 1-5, where 1,000 students were randomly selected as respondents. There were 450 respondents from the fourth year, 450 respondents from the third year (Grade 9) and 100 from the second year (Grade 8).

Using the question as to whether or not they would like to abolish the SK, the respondents checked the column yes or no and they explained the answer.

A total of 390 favored the abolition of the SK while another 390 said it should continue and 220 others expressed no interest in the subject.

This is contrary to the opinion of a fourth year student, from the PHV team who did not want to be named. According to him “this is just a breeding place of corruption.
